White Cube in Shanghai for West Bund Art & Design and ART021

Posted:

White Cube is pleased to return to Shanghai to participate in the 2023 editions of West Bund Art & Design and ART021.

At West Bund Art & Design (9 – 12 November 2023), highlights from White Cube's presentation include Andreas Gursky's photograph Lager (2014) and In London gesucht und nichts gefunden (2011) by Georg Baselitz, who currently has a major solo exhibition at Serpentine in London.

Further notable works include a painting by Marina Rheingantz, who recently opened her inaugural exhibition with the gallery at White Cube Mason's Yard in London; Damien Hirst's painting Priest (2020); as well as a 2023 work from Park Seo-Bo's renowned ‘Ecriture' series.

For ART021 (9 – 12 November 2023), White Cube will open a dual-presentation of works by Imi Knoebel and Rachel Kneebone.

Resolutely abstract, Knoebel's minimal compositions rely on a strict, pared down vocabulary of form and colour to expose the physical possibilities inherent in the most basic materials.

Working primarily in porcelain, Kneebone's sculptural practice similarly embraces the unpredictability of her medium, focusing on ideas of metamorphosis and movement, transformation and suspension and the material manifestation of fluid physical states.
