No. Many of our artists do not provide Certificates of Authenticity and it is the artist’s decision as to whether they do so or not, in the same way that some artists choose to sign their works and others choose not to. Where White Cube is selling the artwork to you on behalf of the artist, we can, upon request, provide a letter confirming we received the artwork directly from the artist.
-
Our artworks and editions are sold unframed unless stated otherwise. We are happy to put you in contact with our framers who can advise on our artists’ preferred framing specification for your edition.
-
No. However, many of our shipping partners offer this service for an additional fee. We are happy to put you in contact with providers with experience in this field who can assist you.

Editions are artworks produced in larger quantities. They enable our artists to work with renowned printers and fabrication studios, as well as offer more affordable artworks to their collectors and new clients. White Cube has a large selection of editions, including prints, small sculptural artworks and textiles. We work directly with our artists to create these limited editions.
Traditionally, in printmaking, an edition is a number of prints made from one plate. These prints are signed and numbered by the artist as a record of the limited number of that impression and the total edition size.
Print editions are two-dimensional works on paper, typically consisting of a number of prints made from a single plate. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist, serving as both a record of its limited quantity and authentication of the edition.
Sculptural editions, or multiples, are three-dimensional art objects. They may be signed, stamped or numbered. Where an edition is unmarked, your White Cube invoice acts as authentication of the edition. -
Our prints are intended for your personal collection. To ensure that as many collectors as possible can enjoy the editions, we limit sales to one edition of each artwork per client.
-
Always store print editions flat and in a dry environment out of direct sunlight. It is best to handle editions with clean or gloved hands.
For advice on sculptural editions please contact us and our team will be happy to assist. -

Artworks
Depending on where the artwork is located when it is invoiced and when it is released to you or your shippers, you may be subject to sales taxes. On some secondary market sales, White Cube is also required to charge an artist resale royalty. You will be responsible for any export/import duties if you are planning to move the artwork across jurisdictions. A member of our sales team can guide you through what additional fees White Cube will need to add to the purchase price of the artwork. UK VAT needs to be paid for any artworks being collected directly from White Cube Bermondsey.
Prints and Multiples
If your delivery address is not within the United Kingdom, you may be subject to import duties, taxes and/or service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You will need to pay all additional charges. Editions with a value over $2500 may require the US customs service to request ID from the recipient (examples include EIN, SSN, VAT, GST, RFC). Our courier may try to contact you for additional information to clear the parcel through customs. If you encounter any problems, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you. For some high value or large format framed editions we will be in contact after purchase to calculate shipping and packing costs. -
We are legally required to obtain and check identity documents for all our customers who purchase an artwork worth €10,000 or more, or who spend more than €10,000 in a series of transactions.
Please understand that we are obliged to apply these checks regardless of whether you are a new or a longstanding collector of ours. We would be grateful for your patience while we carry out these checks – we will endeavour to make the process as fast and efficient as possible. A member of our compliance team will be in contact should your purchase require these checks.
