Magic Mask
The April 2024 Salon presents Elizabeth Catlett’s Magic Mask (c.1970–80), an intimately-scaled mahogany sculpture whose rhythmic interplay of convexes and concaves demonstrates the profound capacity of organic form to convey essential human emotion, featuring a bespoke audio by curator, writer and art historian Melanie Herzog.
