As part of the M+ Moving Image Programme, Sarah Morris’s newest feature-length film, ETC (2024), commissioned by M+ and Tai Kwun Contemporary, serves as a cinematic portrait of Hong Kong at this unique moment in time. The film will be displayed on the M+ Facade each night from January to March 2024.

Documenting an era marked by rapid change, ETC meditates on the architecture, psychology and economies of Hong Kong; exploring its daily life and complex histories, and charting both iconic and lesser-known areas of the city. This film by Sarah Morris marks the latest work in a series of 15 city portraits the artist has made over the last 25 years. The film began to be planned in 2018 culminating the artist’s interest in the psycho-geography of place.
