To honour George Baselitz and celebrate his recent 85th birthday, the Staatliche Graphische Sammlung museum in Munich will host a solo exhibition dedicated to his remarkable career. The showcase will spotlight two key series of prints from Baselitz’s considerable oeuvre: ‘Die Helden’ (The Heroes), a group of figurative images created in the mid-1960s, and a collection of 148 drypoint and etching prints for his renowned 1990 book Malelade. For the first time ever, the exhibition will feature proofs in their entirety, providing a unique opportunity to experience the full scope of Baselitz’s technical and artistic mastery.
