Georg Baselitz at Museum der Moderne Salzburg

On the occasion of Georg Baselitz’s 88th birthday, Museum der Moderne Salzburg will present two exhibitions dedicated to the artist, titled ‘Baselitz Now’. Spanning the museum’s two venues, the presentations will bring together works from early in Baselitz’s career through to his more recent monumental paintings.

The presentation on view at the Rupertinum will focus on Baselitz’s graphic art, predominantly featuring works in smaller formats. At Mönchsberg, the exhibition will present large-scale paintings created over the last ten years. These works reflect on themes of ageing and mortality and include portraits of the artist and his wife, Elke.
