‘Georg Baselitz. Eroi d’Oro’ opens at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice this spring, coinciding with the 61st Biennale. Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, Director of the Institute of Art History at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, the exhibition presents Baselitz’s most recent series of large-scale paintings.

Featuring canvases with golden glimmering backdrops, and bold black lines and thick brushstrokes, the new paintings depict bodies, including portraits of the artist and his wife, Elke.
