6 September - 9 September 2023

South Korea

In conjunction with the opening of a new gallery in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu district on 5 September 2023, White Cube will participate in Frieze Seoul, presenting major works by Bram Bogart, Isamu Noguchi, Marguerite Humeau, Minoru Nomata, Mona Hatoum, Raqib Shaw, Theaster Gates, Tracey Emin and Tunji Adeniyi-Jones.

Jini Yang, Director of White Cube Seoul, said:

‘We are thrilled to participate in the second edition of Frieze Seoul which will present an unparalleled opportunity for the gallery to connect with existing and new collectors in this market. As White Cube has opened Asia’s second permanent gallery in Seoul, I look forward to extending our programme to Korea with a thriving local art scene and an ascending art market, to deepen connections with both the local and the global art community.’

Highlights from the booth include Tracey Emin’s neon work Open me again (2008) and a new sculpture by Marguerite Humeau, alongside their participation in ‘The Embodied Spirit’; as well as a painting by Minoru Nomata ahead of his solo presentation at White Cube Seoul in 2024.

Also on display will be Tunji Adeniyi-Jones's painting Deep Yellow Dive (2023); Raqib Shaw’s triptych Birds of a feather… can’t always fly (2022-23); as well as Static (colander) (2022), a new aluminium sculpture by Mona Hatoum.
