Julie Mehretu, Mona Hatoum, Antony Gormley, Raqib Shaw and Michael Armitage are included in the ‘Drawing Biennale 2021’ at Drawing Room, London. Presenting new and recent works on paper the exhibition showcases a multitude of drawing techniques by a group of international artists from different generations, backgrounds and heritage. Investigating the idea that 2020 was a year, for many artists, that was focused on drawing, it explores how drawing can be a vital tool in navigating uncertain times. The exhibition culminates with an online auction whose proceeds will support Drawing Room’s move to a permanent location in Bermondsey, London in 2022.
