The Aranya Art Center has opened a new space in Guangzhou, inaugurating its Pavilion space with a presentation dedicated to Isamu Noguchi. The semi-open, outdoor structure features Noguchi’s sculpture Giacometti’s Shadow (1982–83).

Positioned to draw the attention of visitors from both the street and the garden, the Pavilion functions as a bridge between the museum’s interior and exterior architecture, offering a platform for the display of public art.

Noguchi created Giacometti’s Shadow in response to the figurative sculptures of Alberto Giacometti, echoing the signature elongated forms of Giacometti’s work.
