The Peabody Essex Museum presents ‘Isamu Noguchi: “I am not a designer”’, a major retrospective offering a new perspective on the artist’s engagement with design.

Taking its title from a declaration made by Noguchi in 1949, the exhibition brings together nearly 200 objects spanning sculpture, furniture, lighting, ceramics, architecture and designs for public space, many of which have rarely or never been exhibited. Organised by the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, the exhibition debuted there earlier this year.
