Howardena Pindell to receive Cultural Leadership Award from the American Federation of the Arts

Howardena Pindell has been honoured as a recipient of the American Federation of Arts's (AFA) Cultural Leadership Award. The award ceremony will take place at the AFA's Gala in New York City on 10 November 2025.

The annual awards, which started back in 1989, bring together artists, museum directors, collectors, philanthropists and art professionals to celebrate the AFA and honour significant individuals in the arts. At the 2025 awards, Howardena will be honoured alongside art collector and philanthropist Christian Levett and curator Ann Temkin.
