‘Christian Marclay: Doors’ opens at the Brooklyn Museum this summer. Doors (2022) is a video collage of short, sampled film clips featuring the opening and closing of doors. Constructed from cinematic footage collected over a decade, Doors features film sequences of all genres, from French New Wave to Hollywood blockbusters.

Doors is Marclay's latest cinematic exploration of the meaning behind everyday objects. Deftly edited by the artist, the work is a visual narrative that follows actors as they walk through a door to enter a new space.
