As part of Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, ONCEIM (Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations, Expérimentations et Improvisations Musicales) presents a new composition by Christian Marclay.

Marclay’s Constellation marks a new direction from the artist’s renowned practice in sound art and free improvisation. Drawing on recordings of his own noise-based performances, Marclay digitally transformed these sounds into complex musical notation. Working with saxophonist and arranger Benjamin Dousteyssier, he shaped these sonic materials into a detailed orchestral score – a constellation of sound fragments, suspended in orchestral form.

The evening will also feature a new work by Genevieve Murphy.

Constellation was commissioned by ONCEIM; co-produced by Musica and Rainy Days Festival; and supported by the Nicati de Luz Foundation, Impuls Neue Musik and ADAMI.
