A new cast iron sculpture by Antony Gormley has been installed in Newcastle University’s campus. Measuring 4.5m high, ‘Clasp’ is part of the artist’s ‘Blockwork series’ and is constructed of 18 individual blocks depicting two bodies holding each other.

The sculpture is on loan to the University by the artist as part of its ‘Art on Campus’ programme, and is located on King’s Walk between the Students’ Union building and Northern Stage.
