Bukhara Biennial, Uzbekistan

Antony Gormley participates in the first edition of the Bukhara Biennial in Uzbekistan from September to November. Titled ‘Recipes for Broken Hearts’ and curated by Artistic Director Diana Campbell, the biennial will feature visual art, culinary experiences, performances, textiles, crafts, music, dance and architecture.

A selection of Uzbekistan’s most masterful artisans will collaborate with emerging and internationally renowned artists from Uzbekistan, Central Asia and across the globe, including Antony Gormley, Laila Gohar, Himali Singh Soin, David Soin Tappeser, Subodh Gupta, Bekhbaatar Enkhtur, Wael Shawky, Delcy Morelos, and Marina Simão.

Bukhara Biennial is the first contemporary art event of its kind in Central Asia and is commissioned by Gayane Umerova, Chairperson, Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation.
