Nasher Sculpture Center showcases Antony Gormley’s first major museum survey in the United States. Titled ‘SURVEY’, the exhibition is an investigation of sculpture and its many capabilities, spanning the breadth of Gormley’s career, from his experimental work of the early 1980s to the present.

Tracing the development of the artist’s practice and his varied vocabularies, the exhibition displays a selection of works that embody the many ways Gormley has expressed the experience of the body in space and the space of the body.

Expanding on this investigation, a new installation features sculptures placed on rooftops in and around the Dallas Arts District. Designed specifically for the exhibition, these stainless steel sculptures will reflect light and represent energy systems, visible against the vibrant Texas sky, high above the Nasher's sculpture garden.

Conceived as a two-part exhibition presented across White Cube and Thaddaeus Ropac, Antony Gormley’s solo exhibition ‘Inextricable’ infiltrates the public realm and its inner shelter to interrogate the entanglement between humanity and the city – a relationship so thoroughly inscribed that, as the artist states, ‘the world now builds us.’
