White Cube at West Bund Art & Design 2025

Posted:

13 – 16 November 2025

West Bund International Convention and Exhibition Center, Shanghai, China

White Cube is pleased to participate in the 2025 edition of West Bund Art & Design during Shanghai Art Week, featuring work by artists including Georg Baselitz, Mona Hatoum, Damien Hirst, Marguerite Humeau, Zhou Li and Liu Wei.

Highlights from the presentation include Survival 2024 No.2 (2024) by Liu Wei, a painting comprising multiple fragmented planes of gradient colour in reference to the artist’s ongoing fascination with the rapid industrialisation and urbanisation of China. Liu Wei was recently named as the Genesis Façade Commission artist for 2026 by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Marking the artist’s first major US project, four new sculptures will go on view at the museum's Fifth Avenue façade in September 2026.

Further highlights include Marguerite Humeau’s pigment and charcoal work on paper At the Conciliabule of Breathing Mounds III (2025). Produced in parallel with the artist’s major museum show ‘Torches’, which debuted at ARKEN in Copenhagen in May and will tour to Helsinki Art Museum in November, this work is based on a body of research investigating alternative social structures and architectural forms found in the natural world. Humeau will open a solo exhibition at White Cube New York in January 2026.

Hair Necklace (silver)
(2025) by Mona Hatoum will also be presented, coinciding with the artist’s major solo exhibition ‘Mona Hatoum, Encounters: Giacometti’ at Barbican Art Gallery in London, as well as Mantel, bitte nach vorn treten (2014) by Georg Baselitz, whose retrospective ‘Georg Baselitz: A Life in Print’ is currently on view at Kode in Norway.

The presentation also features Damien Hirst’s Kitten White (2016) from the artist's series of ‘Colour Space Paintings’, an evolution of his iconic ‘Spot Paintings’ whereby uniquely coloured spots are meticulously painted onto the canvas following a uniform grid formation, alongside Zhou Li’s new painting Mandala No. 12 (2025). Zhou Li is participating in the 10th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism \ Architecture (UABB), opening in December in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Coinciding with the fair and Shanghai Art Week, Shao Fan presents the large-scale ink painting Beiming (In the Northern Ocean) 00122 (2022) in the 15th Shanghai Biennale, which takes place from 8 November 2025 until 31 March 2026. Shao Fan joined White Cube earlier this year and will have his first solo exhibition with the gallery at Mason’s Yard, London, in spring 2026.
