This year’s ‘Sculpture in the Garden’ at the Landcraft Garden Foundation will showcase the works of artist Virginia Overton. Located within the foundation’s botanical gardens, the annual exhibition offers visitors the unique opportunity to view sculpture in discourse with nature.

Driven by an experimental process, Overton regularly employs natural or reclaimed building materials such as wooden planks, stone, glass and metal, creating artworks which engage with the installation site, its geographical location and history. Foregrounding this physiological encounter, Overton’s minimalist sculptures employ the drama of proportion, weight and balance to allow the powerful, sensory qualities and associations of the materials to emerge.
