Danh Vo receives the 2026 Isamu Noguchi Award

Danh Vo has received the 13th annual Isamu Noguchi Award. Vo received the award alongside fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto at The Noguchi Museum’s annual benefit in Long Island City, New York, on 6 October 2026.

Established in 2014, the award recognises individuals working across disciplines who share Isamu Noguchi’s commitment to innovation, imagination and creativity.

Over the past decade, Vo has developed a sustained artistic dialogue with Noguchi’s work. This began with ‘Noguchi for Danh Vo: Counterpoint’ at the M+ Pavilion, Hong Kong, and ‘Take My Breath Away’ at SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, both in 2018.

This engagement has continued through Vo’s support of the ongoing M+ Playscape, which features Noguchi’s play sculptures and landscapes; ‘Isamu Noguchi / Danh Vo – a cloud and flowers’ at Mudam Luxembourg (2021–22); and ‘Danh Vo, Park Seo-Bo, Isamu Noguchi’ at Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice, in 2022. Most recently, Vo presented ‘Danh Vo in Situ: Akari by Noguchi’ at M+.
