To coincide with the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Anselm Kiefer was invited by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia to present a solo exhibition at Palazzo Duccale.

Titled ‘Questi scritti, quando verranno bruciati, daranno finalmente un po’ di luce’, which translates to ‘These writings, when burned, will finally cast a little light’, the exhibition responded to the Venetian Gothic architecture of the Palazzo Duccale, with a series of site-specific works.
