In this film, Harland Miller describes the origination and development of his Penguin book cover paintings. Miller discusses how the idea for these works began with the collection of books amassed by his father and how they are frequently inspired by pulp fiction and B-movie imagery. Miller also talks about his recent series of paintings which use obituaries as their starting point and how humour and nostalgia – two elements often avoided in contemporary art – have formed the basis of his artistic practice.
