An edition of just 500, this artist book comprises a selection of drawings and written reflections by Tracey Emin. Composed during a stay at a Holiday Inn in 1998, in these pages Emin reflects upon loneliness, separation from a lover, and her relationship with her artistic practice.
Each drawing and piece of text is a monoprint, produced by writing in reverse on the back of a sheet and then printing onto each page – notable by ink smudges and various letters appearing in reverse. The original drawing appears on the opposite side of each page, conjuring the effect of leafing through a transparent diary. In this way, Emin’s typically vulnerable and autobiographical unique voice is exemplified – intimate subject matter materialised in an equally intimately sized artist book.
Near Fine - Very well maintained, with only faint signs of handling. Structurally sound and visually crisp throughout. For further information, please contact us.
