Theaster Gates at Art SG Film

As part of this year’s ART SG FILM programme – titled ‘By Artists, On Artists’ – Theaster Gates will present two films: Ave Maria : An Exercise in reproduction (2018) and Oh, The Wind (2021). The films will feature in the programme’s ‘Voices and Whispers’ section, which focuses on the intimate, transformative and deeply personal journeys of artists navigating the intersections of life, society and history.

The ART SG FILM programme is a curation of film, video art and moving image artworks submitted by participating galleries to the ART SG fair. Established in 2024, the programme places emphasis on showcasing new filmmaking practices, experimental films and works of art historical resonance.
