Paris

Signal (1998), a three-part sculpture by Takis, is currently on display at Centre Pompidou.

Inspired by railway signals, Takis initiated his ‘Signal’ series in Paris in 1955. Initially consisting of fine metal stalks topped with salvaged items, the works gained height and structure to capture the spirit of the material.

Located on the North terrace of the museum, the sculptures stand like totems of the city of Paris, where Takis’ art first blossomed.

White Cube Paris will present an exhibition of works by Takis in November 2024.
