‘Raqib Shaw: Ballads of East and West’ is on view at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum from February to May 2024. Displayed across the museum’s Hostetter Gallery, Fenway Gallery and the Anne H. Fitzpatrick façade, the exhibition presents a selection of paintings created over 12 years. Co-curated by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Dr. Zehra Jumabhoy, ‘Ballads of East and West’ is a celebration of ‘Self-Portraits’ that the artist has created over the last 12 years.

The exhibition premiered at the Frist Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, in September 2023. Following its showcase at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, ‘Raqib Shaw: Ballads of East and West’ will be on view at The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas, from June to September 2024, followed by The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, from November 2024 to March 2025.
