White Cube is pleased to return for the second edition of Taipei Dangdai in Taiwan.

This year, the gallery will present a section dedicated to Al Held (1928 – 2005), one of America’s foremost post-war painters, featuring 6 works spanning the artist’s long career. Highlights include Auriga II (1989) and two older untitled works from his ‘Pigment Paintings’ from 1955 and ‘Letter Paintings’ from 1960.

This small-scale presentation of Al Held follows a major solo exhibition at White Cube in Hong Kong, Modern Maverick, which runs until 11 January 2020 and features works drawn from across Held’s 50-year career, focusing on his Modernist roots and his sustained exploration of abstract painting.

The booth will also feature works by artists including Darren Almond, Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Theaster Gates, Eddie Peake and Raqib Shaw, among others.
