Park Seo-Bo announces the opening of his new museum

Seogwipo, Jeju Island

Park Seo-Bo has announced that in 2024, the ‘Park Seo-Bo Art Museum’ will open to the public. Located in Seogwipo on the southern part of Jeju Island, the museum is designed by Fernando Menis and will look out onto the sea with a view of Beomseom Island.

The museum will be built across three floors, with one ground-floor space and two below-ground spaces. Menis’ concept for the museum aligns with Park Seo-Bo’s art philosophy. Valuing the importance of nature, Menis has designed a sunken structure that allows natural light to reach even the underground exhibition spaces. Utilising the Picado technique for the museum's walls, Menis seeks to erase the cold feeling of a concrete museum space, and instead create a peaceful atmosphere, in which the Park Seo-Bo Art Museum coexists harmoniously with nature.
