Royal Academy of Arts, London
Michael Armitage’s solo exhibition ‘Paradise Edict’ continues at the Royal Academy of Arts in London just over 10 years after he graduated from the Royal Academy Schools.
The exhibition showcases 15 of the artist’s large-format oil paintings that are powerful expressions of the essential aspects of being human: cruelty, sexuality, and love, as well as mythologies and dream states.
A selection of work by East African contemporary artists, chosen by Armitage for their important role in shaping figurative painting in Kenya, will be displayed alongside.
