White Cube Mason’s Yard opened in 2006 near the original Duke Street space. The building, constructed on the site of an electricity sub-station, was designed by architects MRJ Rundell & Associates. It is the first free-standing structure to have been built in the historic St James’s area for more than 30 years and consists of a ground floor gallery on street level and a double-height, naturally-lit basement gallery. An exhibition by Mexico-based artist Gabriel Orozco inaugurated the space.
Accessibility Information
- The public gallery is on the ground floor and lower ground floor. Both galleries are accessible via a lift
- A wheelchair accessible toilet is located on the lower ground floor
- Fold out seating can be collected from reception
- Hearing loops are installed for video works
Current and Upcoming Exhibitions
Suzanne Song
Interfold
4 September – 3 October 2025
The abstract painting of Korean American artist Suzanne Song is characterised by the combining of geometric logic and subtle tonal gradations to startling, mesmeric effect. Grounded by an inquiry into perception, her practice contends that physical and pictorial space is predicated upon its embodiment – that which is experienced or felt by the viewer.
Andreas Gursky
11 October – 8 November 2025
Coinciding with Frieze London 2025, White Cube Mason’s Yard presents new work by Andreas Gursky, which delves into his interest in music and ongoing investigation into contemporary culture.
Beatriz Milhazes
19 November 2025 – 17 January 2026
White Cube Mason’s Yard is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes, comprising new paintings and a site-specific installation.
Known for her densely layered compositions, Milhazes’s practice spans painting, collage and intricate sculpture. Poised between rational structure and spontaneity, her work lies at the intersection of European and Brazilian modernism.
