Coinciding with the opening of Frieze Seoul, White Cube presents a solo exhibition of paintings, sculpture and works on paper by Gabriel Orozco.

In his paintings, Orozco explores the phenomenon of structures, in which the symbol of the circle behaves as a bridge between geometry and organic matter, and the sequencing of colour is based on principles of movement within a game of chess. Adopting techniques from Japanese and Chinese painting traditions, the artist’s recurring motifs of circles and partial grids are overlaid, resulting in graphic diagrams that create turbulence and movement in place of order.
