Studio Visit and Q&A: Ibrahim Mahama

5pm BST, 6pm CEST, 11am CDT, 12pm EST

9 October - 9 October 2020

Zoom. Advance booking required

Join Ibrahim Mahama on an online visit to Nkrumah Voli, a huge concrete silo recently acquired by the artist in the centre of Tamale in northern Ghana.

Modernist-style silos were built in the 1950s by the Ghana Cocoa Processing Company to store cocoa beans, and are dotted around the Ghanaian landscape today. The structures are seen by Mahama as important symbols of the country’s self-determination following independence from British colonial rule in 1957.

This talk coincides with Frieze London 2020 and Ibrahim Mahama’s White Cube online solo exhibition Letters From the Void (2 October - 17 November 2020).

Led by Susan May, Global Artistic Director at White Cube, the audience will have the opportunity to submit live questions to the artist during this event.
