Ibrahim Mahama is the recipient of the 2021 Pino Pascali Award. To mark the award, an exhibition of Mahama's work will take place at Exchiesetta, an iconic art space in the centre of Polignano a Mare, Italy from 11 December 2021.

Viewable from the street at all times, the site-specific installation will feature hessian sacks, a recurrent and emblematic material within the artist's practice. 'I am interested in the artistic and political implications of these materials' Mahama has said, '….I hope that what is left of them, stained, torn and abandoned but at the same time radiant – can lead us to new possibilities and spaces'.
