Mirosław Bałka Studio presents ‘Otwock Season 7: Lawrence Weiner’, Otwock

Mirosław Bałka Studio invited conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner to participate in ‘Otwock’, a site-specific project which allows artists respond to Bałka’s studio and hometown in Poland.

For the seventh season of the project, Weiner created a text-based painting for the wall of Bałka’s studio alongside an intervention in a local newspaper.

On Saturday 7 April, a discussion between Wiesław Borowski, Julian Heynen and Bałka took place for the inauguration of the commission, followed by the reading of texts from Weiner’s exhibitions in Poland and screenings of his films and videos.
