White Cube is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessie Washburne-Harris as a Global Director, joining the gallery in October 2025. Based in New York, this senior leadership role will oversee the gallery’s long-term growth in the United States.
As Global Director, Jessie will work in close partnership with the New York leadership team to continue to develop White Cube’s US Programme. Together, they will shape the gallery’s future in the region, with Jessie taking a leading role in driving White Cube’s expansion.
Jessie joins White Cube from Pace Gallery where she served as Senior Vice President. Her wide-ranging industry experience includes working at Marian Goodman Gallery and founding New York gallery Harris Lieberman, which operated for seven years with a programme focusing on emerging international artists. Additionally, she has held positions at Gagosian, Petzel Gallery and Sotheby’s.
Her appointment coincides with the two-year anniversary of White Cube’s first permanent US space at 1002 Madison Avenue and marks a significant milestone in the gallery’s continued commitment to expanding its US presence.
Sam Johnson, White Cube CEO, said:
‘We are delighted to welcome Jessie to White Cube. Her dynamism and breadth of experience, combined with her deep knowledge of both the US and international markets, make her a powerful addition to our senior leadership team.
In close collaboration with our New York colleagues, and as part of our Executive Committee, she will play a pivotal role in setting and delivering White Cube’s ambitious future strategy, particularly across the Americas.
We have had the pleasure of working with Jessie previously on major projects with our artists. Jay Jopling, our Executive Committee and I are thrilled to now have her formally join us in this leadership capacity.’
Jessie Washburne-Harris said:
‘I’m thrilled to be joining White Cube at such an exciting moment in the gallery’s evolution. I’ve long admired its artist-centred approach — a perspective that feels both inspiring and essential in today’s art market. White Cube has established a unique position globally, and it’s a privilege to be part of its continued growth in the US and internationally. I look forward to working closely with Jay, Sam and the talented global team.’
