Presented at Museu de Arte de São Paulo, Casa de Vidro and Itaú Cultural, 'Beatriz Milhazes: Avenida Paulista' has been conceived within the context of a year dedicated to the history of dance.
Beatriz Milhazes has become widely known for her complex language of form and colour, influenced by modernism, baroque and specifically Brazilian culture, in particular its carnival, decorative art and flora and fauna.
This large-scale exhibition, curated by Adriano Pedrosa and Ivo Mesquita, features a wide selection of her paintings and collages from 1990 to the present as well as new, previously unseen works made in collaboration with choreographer Marcia Milhazes.
