Cinga Samson
Ukuphuthelwa
6 March – 18 April 2026
South African artist Cinga Samson’s exhibition of new paintings is titled ‘Ukuphuthelwa’, an isiXhosa word in the artist’s native language that translates as ‘unable to sleep’. Unlike the English word ‘insomnia’, the isiXhosa term carries no negative connotation and accordingly, for Samson, sleeplessness is not a condition to be cured but a state of spiritual alertness, a sensitivity that deepens in the dark.
David Hammons and Jannis Kounellis
30 April – 13 June 2026
White Cube presents an exhibition of works by American artist David Hammons (b.1943) and the late Greek-Italian artist Jannis Kounellis (1936–2017), marking the first two-person exhibition of their work in over 30 years.
In September, an exhibition by Danh Vo opens at White Cube New York, marking the artist’s return to the city following his acclaimed exhibition 'Take My Breath Away’ at the Guggenheim New York in 2018.
