The building, which dates from the 1970s, was renovated and designed by architects Casper Mueller Kneer. The location on Bermondsey Street in South London is identifiable by its large open courtyard, while the gallery itself features three expansive exhibition spaces including South Gallery II which spans 778m² and the double-height naturally-lit gallery, 9x9x9. Current and Upcoming Exhibitions
Sara Flores
Bakish Mai
9 July – 7 September 2025
Preview: 8 July 2025, 6 – 8 pm
‘Bakish Mai’ presents the recent work of Peruvian artist and activist Sara Flores: a new film and a series of patterned, abstract paintings. Through these works, Flores offers conceptual representations of Shipibo-Konibo ancestral knowledge – mappings of the Amazonian cosmos and histories made visible on the painted surface.
Alien Shores: landscape, once removed
9 July – 7 September 2025
Preview: 8 July 2025, 6 – 8 pm
‘Alien Shores’ explores landscape as a place of memory, imagination, yearning and belonging. Through painting, video, photography and sculpture, the artists included offer speculative, symbolic or surreal depictions of emotional terrain and voyages of the imagination, visions of the distant past or possible futures. These are landscapes once removed: shaped by temporal or cultural distance, filtered through technology, mythology or abstraction.
Cai Guo-Qiang
Gunpowder and Abstraction
2015-2025
2015-2025
26 September – 9 November 2025
White Cube is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Cai Guo-Qiang (b. 1957, Quanzhou, Fujian, China), coinciding with Frieze London.
Based in New York since 1995, Cai is best known for his monumental outdoor explosion events, gunpowder paintings and large-scale installations – works that transcend the two-dimensional plane to oscillate freely between nature and society.
26 November 2025 – January 2026
American artist Howardena Pindell opens a solo exhibition of paintings, sculpture and works on paper made between the 1960s and the present day. Spanning the Bermondsey galleries, this presentation follows her inaugural show at White Cube Hong Kong in November 2024, after she joined the gallery in May 2024.
February – March 2026
In February 2026, White Cube Bermondsey will open a solo exhibition of work by Klára Hosnedlová, marking the artist’s debut with the gallery.
