The expansive colour photographs of Andreas Gursky articulate what he has described as the ‘essential commonality’ of contemporary life. From multinational headquarters to performance stadiums, post-war architecture to domestic interiors, Gursky endows his subjects with a monumentality that recalls the compositional ambition of history painting.

Doris Salcedo | Atrabiliarios
Atrabiliarios (1993) by Doris Salcedo offers a haunting testimonial to loss and the unresolved afterlives of the disappeared. On view during Frieze London in our Private Viewing Rooms at White Cube Bermondsey, this work exemplifies Salcedo’s practice of political archaeology: exhuming the remnants of violence to shape charged sites of remembrance and mourning.
