Michael Armitage inaugurates Turner Contemporary Editions

In the wake of Michael Armitage’s major exhibition at Kunsthalle Basel, the artist has produced a limited edition print for Turner Contemporary Editions, a new venture by Turner Contemporary launched in partnership with the print studio Counter Editions in Margate. The print, a 13-colour lithograph entitled Vision II, is based on Armitage’s painting Vision (2013), which was included in his exhibition ‘Peace Coma’ at Turner Contemporary in 2017.

Armitage has since retained a close relationship with the gallery. He says, ‘I am thrilled to be the first artist to make a print [...] Turner Contemporary supports artists at pivotal moments in their careers and works with thousands of children and young people each year through their learning programme.’ Turner Contemporary Editions will help sustain the gallery’s work in offering free access to art, culture and creative learning to communities in Margate and across Kent.
