White Cube Mason’s Yard opened in 2006 near the original Duke Street space. The building, constructed on the site of an electricity sub-station, was designed by architects MRJ Rundell & Associates. It is the first free-standing structure to have been built in the historic St James’s area for more than 30 years and consists of a ground floor gallery on street level and a double-height, naturally-lit basement gallery. An exhibition by Mexico-based artist Gabriel Orozco inaugurated the space.

Accessibility Information

The public gallery is on the ground floor and lower ground floor. Both galleries are accessible via a lift

Mason’s Yard, London

‘In the Light of False Suns’, Louise Giovanelli’s exhibition of new paintings at White Cube Mason’s Yard, revisits subjects long central to the artist’s practice – curtains, hair, female screen idols and the cinematic kiss – setting them here beneath a borrowed light.
