White Cube Bermondsey opened in 2011 and is Europe’s largest commercial gallery space incorporating more than 5440m² of interior space. The building, which dates from the 1970s, was renovated and designed by architects Casper Mueller Kneer. The location on Bermondsey Street in South London is identifiable by its large open courtyard, while the gallery itself features three expansive exhibition spaces including South Gallery II which spans 778m² and the double-height naturally-lit gallery, 9x9x9. The building also houses an auditorium, a bookshop, private viewing rooms and offices and a warehouse.

Current and Upcoming Exhibitions
Katharina Grosse
I Set Out, I Walked Fast
22 April – 31 May 2026
For more than three decades, Katharina Grosse has radically reshaped the terrain of painting. For Grosse, painting does not belong to, in or on any particular surface; rather, it is a temporary ecology in which artist, site and viewer converge.
Georg Baselitz
Back Again
10 June – 30 August 2026
Georg Baselitz’s (1938–2026) solo exhibition at White Cube Bermondsey takes its title from one of the artist’s final paintings, ‘Back Again’, a now poignant testament to the artist’s drive to return, distil and resolve those motifs that consumed him during a career that spanned more than 60 years. One of the very last exhibitions Baselitz conceived before his passing in May 2026, the artist elected to bring together those subjects that defined his practice, including the eagle, the figure of the Hero and his longtime muse, wife and partner, Elke Kretzschmar.
