‘Freedom in Form: Richard Hunt’ opens at Loyola University Museum of Art this summer. The exhibition celebrates the artistic achievements of Hunt, who lived and worked in Chicago’s South Side until his passing in 2023.

The presentation traces the influence that the civil rights struggle had on the artist’s life and career, shaping Hunt’s commitment to the artistic freedom of expression.

A selection of sculpture, maquettes, tools, books, photography, prints, video interviews, and a chronology of his life will all be on view in ‘Freedom in Form’, offering visitors a comprehensive look into Hunt’s creative process and enduring legacy.
