At Nevill Holt Festival 2026, Harland Miller will present an exhibition of his ‘Letter Paintings’ alongside related works on paper. Inspired by the illuminated letters of medieval manuscripts, the works make reference to Robert Rauschenberg and Ed Ruscha, incorporating vernacular signage and motifs in their boldly saturated, hard-edged depiction of letters.

Held annually in the Leicestershire countryside, Nevill Holt Festival celebrates arts and culture through a programme of talks, performances, exhibitions and events.

As part of this year’s festival, Harland Miller will take part in an intimate conversation in the chapel, where the audience will be surrounded by a selection of his works. Miller will discuss his life, practice and the ideas that have shaped his distinctive approach to painting throughout his career.
