To mark the permanent install of ‘Another Time II’, Kunsthal Rotterdam is dedicating their summer exhibition to the sculpture of Antony Gormley. This work will be situated on the park side of the Kunsthal and will also form part of the spectacular installation ‘Event Horizon’ whereby 21 moulds of Gormley’s body will be positioned in situ over the rooftops of a number of buildings in Rotterdam. Further to this, two more prominent installations Allottment II (1996) and Critical Mass II (1995) will be presented in the monumental daylight hall of the Kunsthal. Engaging with the impressive architecture of the space, Gormley is able to re-investigate the relationship between the internal and external space of the human body, a fundamental theme of his work.
The exhibition will run until 14 September before touring to the Musée d'Art Contemporain in St. Etienne, France (September 2008 - February 2009) and to the Artium Museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country (March - September 2009).
