Modern Art Oxford is delighted to present ‘Door Paintings’, Gary Hume’s solo exhibition opening 14 June. Showcasing 18 of the most important pieces, this show forms the first-ever survey of this body of work. These large-scale, monochrome canvases painted with gloss house paint and based on the institutional doors of hospitals, make up foundational works in Hume’s oeuvre, from up to twenty years ago. Modern Art Oxford will also be hosting a discussion between the artist and Deputy Director/Senior Curator Suzanne Cotter on Saturday 14 June at 5.00 pm.
