From 1 June, Fondation Beyeler hosts ‘Black Beetle’, a solo show by Sarah Morris. Comprising of a selection of paintings from her series ‘Capital’ (2001) and ‘Rings’ (2006), Morris will also exhibit films on New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. Both mediums distinctly address the modern city, its structure and urban environment creating diagrammatic portraits of American cities. Alongside these works, Morris will also exhibit a new mural piece ‘Black Beetle’. Reflecting upon her interest in Japanese Origami, this large-scale piece spans an impressive 23.7 x 3.8 meters and will be housed in the lower-level exhibition space.
