The Figge Von Rosen Galerie is pleased to present ‘Out of Space’, a solo show by Koen van den Broek. In this group of 12 works van den Broek remains loyal to his discourse on painting and working with photographic templates. The paintings remain abstract even though they allude to the scenarios of our realities. Without the details of a photograph, the images function as vague souvenirs reminding one of a place or a story which can’t be fully recognised, and so focuses the viewer on the compositional tension of the works and the possibilities of painting itself.
