17 February - 13 May 2007
For the first time in nine years, Andreas Gursky is showing his works in a museum context in Germany at the Haus der Kunst, Munich. The Düsseldorf artist is presenting 46 large format works, many of which were created following his much-acclaimed exhibition in New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 2001. The presentation contains works from 20 years of artistic production from 1987 to 2007. Gursky has re-interpreted familiar motifs using current digital technology for this exhibition and also enlarged the standard format of his images, tailoring them to the museum space. Following its presentation in Munich, the exhibition will to travel to Istanbul Modern and Sharjah Art Museum.
