Sergej Jensen at the Aspen Art Museum

The Aspen Art Museum in collaboration with the Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art is pleased to host the first US solo museum show by Sergej Jensen.
The exhibition will include twenty-three paintings by Jensen, which demonstrate his alternative methods of production. He often uses bleaching, sewing and fraying of the canvases as a process to create abstract pictorial planes. He also incorporates the gallery space’s pre-existing infrastructure into the exhibition, creating a dialogue between the work and the environment.
A monographic catalogue co-produced by both institutions, will accompany the exhibition and features texts by Aspen Art Museum Director Heidi Zuckerman Jacobson and Kunst- Werke Institute curator Susan Pfeffer.
